Children Receiving Early Intervention Services

Children receiving Early Intervention (EI) services are defined as having had an authorization for a general service (speech-language pathology, occupational therapy, special instruction, physical therapy, etc.) during the fiscal year. General services exclude assistive technology, service coordination, evaluation, transportation, and respite. EI is a federal entitlement program that offers a variety of therapeutic and support services to eligible infants and toddlers (0-3 years old) with developmental delays and disabilities and their families.
